my experiments 2

After yesterdays comments on my post, these are two sketches i am posting.Though they look similar in tretment, the process is exactly opposite.I did a ball point sketch first as outline and then put washes in one painting. In the other i put washes first and just to define some architectural elements few pen lines are added. This technic is faster and in crowed places when big actual painting becomes difficult, this helps!I am also planning a binnale fair in france, hence travel book is in mind.

I also happen to sign my paintings differently in all paintings as i enjoy composing where and how my signature looks. It is in a local script called Devnagari. They when translated read as San- Jo

It's interesting to experiment with different approaches. Helps one grow as an artist. As always your paintings are great.

If you know the rules you also know how to break them :). As you know watercolor rules now you can experiment as much you want and still come out with acceptable results. As skecth both are good but liked second one more. BTW as I had written earlier I am impressed with the way you sign your paintings and decided to design a T shirt for me with my name in Devnagari and then meaning of it in differnt languages in roman script ( my friend google will come handy for translating ajay-Invincible in diffrent languages). I have very little experince with calligraphy and might ask for some help from you

Beautiful paintings Joshi. Thank you for visiting my blog.
Yes, I do use a photograph. My dogs don't sit still long enough for me. Even capturing them on photo is a chore - I have to take many many before I find one I can use.
Happy painting!

hi all, thanks for visiting.
Generally tendency is to put up the best painting on blogs and skip the unsucessful attempts or experiments.I have decided to post even failed combinations and not my best of paintings. The next two days you might experience this.
