winter in pune.

this a foggy morning in pune, india, and the sun has just comeout

The structure what you see is a old canteen building in university campus, near botanical garden.

the big banian tree is age old with lots of roots hanging from the trunks.I did this in 10 minutes flat as was hungry and wanted to visit canteen instead of painting it.

I love the way you've created light streaming down from between the canopy of the tree...
Gorgeous... 10 minutes with a brush.... A lifetime of practice and experience!

Happy 2009

I agree with Marian - it's beautiful and winter or not, this one looks decidedly warm!

(Your writing is coming along nicely. Keep it up!)

you have captured that light effortlessly but more than that I liked the way you have signed the painting .If I have to copy onething from you I will copy the way you sign on painting

Hi liz and marian,
my writing, Hmmmm...
No it just last 6 years i am painting, but doing it every sunday regularly and plein Air? in your vocabulary.we call it out door, or on the spot painting. If you can elaborate on plein air i would be glad.I was out on a bird watching trip today, another of my hobbies, and migratory birds have arriving !!It was great.I know it is odd writing about birds and animals to a south african, but we also have some wild life left here.
Thanks for your visit to my blog.

Love the subtle colors and depiction of light. Does being an architect help with painting watercolors?

Hi watercolourist jean,
thanks for dropping by.Being an architect, it helps in perspective department, but otherwise I have to keep practising as all of you have to.
It is lovely that you feel 40,not only that you look also from your photograph.I am 50, so elder to you!

Hi again Sanjeev. Just wanted to let you know that we have BIG wild animals here!!! Seriously, down here in the Cape we don't have the bird life that they have round the Johannesburg area. Aren't birds fantastic. Why don't you paint them?

Plein Air is a fancy French expression for outdoors.
